Toronto’s BMO Field Gears Up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup With Huge Transformations

Toronto’s iconic BMO Field is set to undergo a significant transformation in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As one of the Canadian host cities, Toronto will join 11 cities in the USA and three in Mexico to stage the largest FIFA World Cup in history.

Expansion and Enhancements

The City of Toronto, in partnership with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), has announced a comprehensive plan to upgrade BMO Field. The stadium’s capacity will be increased to 45,736 seats, with 10,000 temporary seats added to the north grandstand and 7,000 to the south.
