Summerlicious, Toronto’s Tastiest Tradition Returns This July with Over 220 Restaurants
By Joe Favre
Toronto’s most delicious summer tradition is back. From July 4 to 20, 2025, the city will once again transform into a food lover’s paradise as Summerlicious returns with more than 220 restaurants offering specially curated three-course prix fixe menus. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just looking for a great excuse to dine out, Summerlicious is your chance to explore Toronto’s diverse culinary landscape at unbeatable prices.
Organized by the City of Toronto, Summerlicious was launched in 2003 to support local restaurants during slower business periods. Since then, it has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated annual events, drawing tens of thousands of diners and generating millions in economic activity. In 2025, the event continues to celebrate Toronto’s multicultural identity through food, while encouraging residents and visitors to “Love Local” with every bite.

What to Expect from Summerlicious 2025
This year’s Summerlicious features six price points for both lunch and dinner, making it accessible to a wide range of budgets. Lunch menus are available at $20, $27, $34, $41, $48, and $55, while dinner menus are priced at $25, $35, $45, $55, $65, and $75
Each menu includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert, offering exceptional value and variety.
The participating restaurants span nearly every cuisine imaginable—from upscale French and Italian to Caribbean, Korean, Middle Eastern, and vegan-friendly fare. Some of the standout names this year include Kiin, known for its elegant Thai dishes; Chotto Matte, a hotspot for Nikkei cuisine; Patois, a fusion of Jamaican and Asian flavors; and Casa Madera, offering a luxurious dining experience with a focus on sustainability
Menus are available online, and diners can filter by neighborhood, cuisine, or price to find the perfect spot. Reservations opened on June 19, and many restaurants are already filling up fast. To avoid disappointment, it’s best to book early directly with the restaurant of your choice.

How to Plan Your Summerlicious Experience
Planning ahead is key to enjoying Summerlicious to the fullest. Start by browsing the official Summerlicious 2025 restaurant list and menus, where you can explore options by location or cuisine. Whether you’re craving sushi in the Entertainment District, Italian in Little Italy, or plant-based dishes in the Annex, there’s something for every palate.
If you’re new to prix fixe dining, here’s how it works: each participating restaurant offers a set menu with three courses—starter, main, and dessert—at a fixed price. This allows you to try new dishes or restaurants without worrying about the final bill. It’s also a great way to experience high-end dining at a fraction of the usual cost.
Some restaurants may not offer lunch menus on weekends, so be sure to check availability when booking. And while walk-ins are sometimes accepted, reservations are strongly recommended, especially for dinner and weekends.
A Celebration of Culinary Diversity
Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, and Summerlicious reflects that beautifully. The event is a showcase of the city’s global flavors, with restaurants representing cuisines from every continent. Whether you’re in the mood for Ethiopian injera, Japanese omakase, Lebanese mezze, or Mexican mole, you’ll find it on a Summerlicious menu.
This diversity isn’t just about food—it’s about community. Many of the participating restaurants are family-owned businesses that bring generations of culinary tradition to the table. Dining out during Summerlicious is a chance to support these local entrepreneurs and experience the stories behind the dishes.

Economic and Cultural Impact
Summerlicious is more than just a food festival—it’s a vital part of Toronto’s economic and cultural fabric. The event is part of the city’s broader Love Local campaign, which encourages residents to support small businesses and local entrepreneurs. By dining out during Summerlicious, you’re helping to sustain the chefs, servers, and restaurant owners who make Toronto’s food scene one of the most dynamic in North America
According to the City of Toronto, the combined impact of Summerlicious and its winter counterpart, Winterlicious, has generated over $353 million in economic activity since their inception
These events also help restaurants attract new customers, test new menu items, and build long-term relationships with diners.
